NURSERY CARE AVAILABLE SUNDAY FROM 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Sunday, September 12 – Welcome back Sunday This day marks the kick-off of our fall Fellowship & Education. Join us after each service and sample a variety of delicious pies. Learn about our Adult Education. Pray with us at 10:30 a.m. as we bless our Teachers and Sunday School Leaders and Children. Discover if you have won a small door prize at 10:30 a.m. and help our youth travel to Diocesan programs by purchasing a raffle ticket.
RAFFLE TICKETS - On September 12th, the Children's Ministries team will be holding two raffle drawings. There will be a FREE raffle for two back-to-school baskets, loaded up with lots of school goodies. The other raffle will be $1/ticket, and for this raffle, we will be giving away a four-pack of tickets to Biosphere 2 - these tickets include a VIP tour! The Biosphere 2 raffle will help fund youth group activities this year. Tickets will go on sale on September 5th. Please see Kristin Downing or Matt Adamson if you are interested in participating.
ADULT EDUCATION will be offering two classes for “Out Of The Box Thinkers.” We will be discussing Risk-Shaped Discipleship. Fr. Bob Harvey will lead Tuesday evening class, 6:30 to 8 p.m., beginning September 14. Fr. Brian Ticknor will be leading the same study on Thursday afternoons, beginning September 16, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Please sign up for either class. The cost of the book is $22.95 and will be ordered for those who sign up for the class.
THE APOSTLES: Friends of Jesus and Early Leaders - Pastor Megan will begin a teaching sermon series on some of the men and women who first followed Jesus and later became leaders in the early church. Many of them contributed significant witness to the written gospels which followed shortly afterward. The teaching series will began on August 15 and continues on throuh September 12, at all services.
Late Summer Class at Apostes: “The Lost History of Christianity: The Thousand Year Golden Age of the Church in the Middle East, Arica and Asia” by Philip Jenkins begins August 17 thru September 21 at 10 a.m. in the Prayer Circle in the Sanctuary. Each week we will discuss a portion of this volume. The class is led by Pastor Megan Traquair. THE CATECHUMENATE: Journey to Jesus 2010-2011 will begin again in late October. Adults who have re-embraced their faith, or found it for the first time, are encouraged to sign up now to indicate your interest. We are also seeking persons who would like to serve as companions. If you are interested in Baptism, Confirmation or a Reaffirmation, this is the group for you! We meet October-April on Tuesday evenings 6:30 – 7:45 p.m. Come and see!
