The Prayers of the People
for Summer |
#20E191 |
| Deacon |
Let us pray for healthful living, for ourselves, for the church and for the world. |
| Leader |
You, O Lord, who gave us our breath and our bodies, help us to treat them with tender love and good care. |
| People |
God, hear our prayer. |
| Leader |
Gracious God, let our physical bodies be sources of your light and love, refreshed by clean air, bright sunshine and the joy found in simple pleasures. We thank you also for this beautiful desert land where we can see your image in creation… |
| People |
We thank you for this place. |
| Leader |
Using vital energy to create more energy in which to serve you, let us honor our bodies and spirits through healthful eating, appropriate exercise, and mindful meditation. |
| People |
We thank you for your guidance and example. |
| Leader |
Great healer, source of life: we hold before you those in need of healing of body, mind and spirit. |
(Names may be said aloud or held in silence.) |
| People |
May we find our health and wholeness in you. |
| Leader |
May the care and keeping of our physical bodies further our spiritual journey until one day we may find rest in you. We pray for those who will be born today, and for those who will die. |
| People |
Let us remember those whom we love and no longer see. |
(People may name their deceased loved ones aloud or remember them in silence.) |
| Leader |
May we work and pray always for the reconciliation of individuals and of nations. Help us to use our power and knowledge for your purposes and not to satisfy our own interests. |
| People |
Help us to live in peace. |
| Leader |
For Katherine, our Presiding Bishop; Kirk, our Bishop; and Megan, Bob, Frank, and Wendy, our clergy, that they may be so inspired by you that they may proclaim your Good News with conviction and integrity. |
| People |
We pray for all ministers of your Word and Sacraments, including each of us. |
| Leader |
May your healthful life choices and our acceptance of walking in your way of justice and truth allow us always |
| People |
to praise you, to serve you and to love you. |
| Amen. |
