An Invitation from our Vicar
Welcome. If what you’re looking for in a church is honesty, acceptance, and the willingness to take on the hard questions
of life, the Church of the Apostles could be for you. If you are looking for that inexplicable combination of ancient liturgy and progressive theology, that paradoxical way of feeling immersed in history and yet entirely free of the ways history can
constrain creativity, then Church of the Apostles very likely may be for you.

We offer a range of worship services, from the Old English of Rite I (7:30 a.m. Sunday) to the mainline Book of Common
Prayer Rite II (8:30 a.m. Sunday) to an alternative liturgy with inclusive language and varied images of God (10:30 a.m.
Sunday). Check our summer hours for changes in this schedule. The common link in all of these worship offerings is the
progressive theology that you will hear in sermons. We are grounded in the Revised Common lectionary selection of
passages from the Bible, and our interpretation of scripture is contextual and relevant. We believe the Living Word
continues to be revealed to us today and in many other texts in addition to Hebrew and Christian scripture.

If you are looking for homogeneity in belief, for rigid interpretation of scripture and moral codes of living, for an authority
that will tell you what to believe, for comfort and sanctuary from life, you probably won’t find it here. Our mission is to
nurture Divine connections – YOUR connection to God, the parish community’s connection to Christ and Christ’s Body.
And we believe those connections require that we engage with life NOW, in whatever ways God may be revealed, and
we don’t want to limit that in any way.

If you would like to discuss any of this, have questions about our vision and mission, or just want to become part of our
community browse this website and give us a call (520-5544-9660) or email us.

Come and join us for an experience of worship; commune with us through Christ’s body and blood at the Eucharist; then
go forth into the world, rejoicing in the power of God’s Spirit, and hold on for your life! You never know what God has in
store for you!
